Author Visit: Sarah Webb

10/22/2018

Creative Writing Club events kicked off with a visit from award winning author Sarah Webb. Sarah spoke to us about her books, her highly successful writing career
and her inspirations. She led us in a writing exercise and then kindly gifted us a copy of her new publication “Blazing a Trail: Irish Women who changed the World”. We thoroughly enjoyed her visit and gained much inspiration and information from her talk.

This year’s library prefects (Laura Nagle, Cayla Rose O’Sullivan, Nina Hand, Ellen O’Hara and Isabelle Cunningham) have been working hard in getting our school library up and running this year. They have organised a brand new selection of books which have been catalogued and are now available to borrow.

Our second year students are currently seeking sponsorship and reading as much as possible as they are taking part in the MS Readathon. This is the fourth year in a row that our 2nd years have participated and in the past we have been delighted to donate to such an important and inspiring charity. The 2nd years have until November 12th to read as many books as possible. Check back here soon for an update on their progress!

A Book in Your Locker

9/24/2018

In order to encourage as much reading as possible in our school we have decided to introduce the "A Book in Your Locker" programme. From Friday September 28th all students in 1st-4th year are required to have a novel in their locker or on their iPad at all times. The library is available to all students should they wish to borrow a book for this programme. If you have a free class and you have not been assigned any work by your teacher students can use this time to read their selected novel.
